‘Making Lemonade!’ - About the Project.

These mural designs are a part of a project led by Women’s Daytime Drop-In Center, an organization dedicated to helping homeless women & children.

The mission for this project was to create a beautiful and comfortable safe haven in the shared backyard space at Bridget House, a transitional housing site for homeless women & children located in Berkeley, California.

The goal behind these designs was to create a more joyful shared outdoor space that supports the families, provides a safe space, and creates community.

In association with 333 Arts and Women's Daytime Drop-In Center.

Behind the scenes

After a meeting with the project coordinator, I started with research and a series of rough sketches on my ipad. Then moved on to color roughs. The final designs were done in vector in Adobe Illustrator. Once finished and approved, I send all the files off to a printing company, who put them onto large weather-resistant aluminum panels ready to be hung in the garden!

First round of concept roughs sent to the client.

Revisioned roughs after client’s feedback.

Final vector files. Ready for printing!
